86% Chennai homebuyers opt for health and wellbeing: Godrej Property Home Livability Factors

Chennai, March 28, 2023 : Chennai homebuyers have shown a marked shift in focus towards leading a healthy a nd sustainable lifestyle, post pandemic, with 86% of the Chennai population considering health, safety, and well being as a priority. The study conducted by Godrej Properties also brought to the fore that 73% of Chennai home buyers are highly conscious of energy conservation, wastage minimization, and are keen on leading a sustainable lifestyle.

Home Livability Factors underscores the fundamental shift in homebuyers’ preferences with the onset of the pa ndemic and the significant alterations that it has brought about in their preference for residential apartments.

As per the study, the pandemic has also altered the preferences of spaces, both inside and outside homes. 81% of Chennai homebuyers find it necessary to be surrounded by open spaces and greenery in and around their hom es.

Pramod Bisht, CEO South Zone, Godrej Properties, said, Homebuyers today are going beyond the basic checklist. T hey are on the lookout for very specific, custom-designed, smart homes which are not only technologically evolved but o ffer contemporary facilities in terms of safety, security and more. Increasing inclination of home buyers for health and w ellbeing has led to a strong preference for an open and safe living environment.”   

The study found that 71% of the respondents from Chennai have acclimatized to work-from-home and have desi gned their homes to support remote working. It further revealed that 67% of the Chennai homebuyers deem it f undamentally important for their home to be a place where hobbies can be developed.

Data findings are a part of research study Home Livability Factors unveiled by Godrej Properties Ltd. (GPL) wh ich surveyed respondents from seven cities of Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Che nnai.
