It will be no exaggeration to say that all eyes will be on Arjun Das in the upcoming movie Bomb set for a September 12 worldwide release.
Touted to be a family drama with oodles of rural entertainment backed by magical realism and dark humour, the premise holds a lot of promise where a deceased man’s flatulence is brought to light by Director Vishal Venkat.
Excited to be part of a thrilling concept the dapper Das opened up to reveal that he profited a lot sharing screen space with the promising Kaali Venkat. The actor was candid to say that he looked forward to that experience though he had starred with Venkat but could not share screen space in earlier movies.
In a career spanning more than a decade,
there was no looking back for Das when Logesh Kanagaraj cast him in a pivotal role in Kaithi. That led to more author backed roles from the director in Master and Vikram.
The common man with a taste for quality offerings found Das an ideal star to reflect the anguish of the less fortunate on the big screen.
The assets of Das are the baritone voice and in his ability to slip into the characters with the ease of a race horse in its favourite turf.
Not just Tamil, the huge talent of Das has found him blessed with mouth watering roles in the forthcoming Telugu project
OG leading to a plethora of offers in Malayalam.
The best moment for Das was in standing tall along Ajith in Good Bad Ugly where he remained unfazed and not overawed by the presence of a mass actor.
Actor Nassar, who is also part of Bomb, said in a lighter vein that proven stars in the industry get goosebumps when Das is part of a project where he gets the lion’ s share of the exchanges with the lead actor.
The leading lights of the industry opined that what Das lacks in height is offset by his ability in stealing the thunder due to his voice modulation and importantly understanding not just his character but the whole plot of the movie.
Admittedl, these may be early days but the knowledgeable see a parallel in the ways and mannerisms of Das with the legen actor M R Radha.
Bomb should be another milestone in the career graph of Das. But what will please him in the success of the movie. As he best summed it up that individual glory does not excite him if the movie does not cut ice from the discerned section of the audience.
