Story -:

The film Lockdown focuses on the psychological struggles faced by a middle-class woman during the Covid lockdown. Anupama Parameswaran, the eldest daughter of her parents, faces a traumatic incident in her life. That dire situation is compounded by the Covid lockdown being enforced across India. What happened to Anupama in the end? How did he escape from that tragedy? Lockdown is the film that tells that in the form of suspense till the end.

Movie Review -:

Actress Anupama Parameswaran has given her best performance in this movie. Priya Venkat, who plays the role of Soumya opposite him, is entertaining in many places. Charlie and Nirosha play the role of parents. However, their character could have been written better. It feels like it’s written superficially. Although the story related to Livingston was incorporated into the film, it did not evoke the expected emotions.

K.A. Shakthivel’s cinematography is excellent. He has given life to every scene. Especially the handling of some important scenes is commendable. However, the excessive emphasis given to Anupama’s hair and the slow screenplay slows down the pace of the film. Scenes like Anupama and her friend going out without any difficulty during the covid lockdown is a big hole in the screenplay.

Director AR Jeeva, who has taken up a good story, has failed to tell it with strong characters and a lively screenplay. Although the film, told from a daughter’s point of view, has some ideas for parents, it does not give complete satisfaction. However, for Anupama Parameswaran’s performance and quality cinematography, this film can definitely be enjoyed in theaters.
