Starting with director Shankar’s film, AR Murugadoss’ films and Vijay Mannerism, Atlee has created a feast for t he fans of Bollywood only. The story begins at the Indian border. Shah Rukh Khan is rescued by the villagers and rescued. Who is he who survives? raises the question. The question we should not ask is what is the story in these films of big heroes and films of commercial directors. Because mostly it’s the same story. A good hero’s life is ruined by an evil villain. The hero will come back and take revenge. Sometimes, if the hero fails to take revenge, his son will come and take revenge. Its variants are father a nd son taking revenge together, son taking revenge for the father, father taking revenge for the son. For example , leave only ‘Raja Rani’, the first film of our director Atlee, and watch other films. ‘Theri’ is a hero who takes reven ge on the one who destroyed his family.
“Mersal” is the son(s) who takes revenge on the killer of his father and mother, “Bigil” is the hero who takes reve nge on the killer of his father, so the story never changes. The plot itself changes. Theri movie is about the life of a police officer and a father living with his daughter, “Mersal” the life of a village leader, a five-rupee doctor and a magic expert, “Bigil” the life of a rowdy and a football player. Most of the big hero films and films of commercial di rectors are made by keeping the story the same and only changing the background of the story. So the questio n we need to ask in movies like this is how is the script..? How are the views..?
is onlyThe screenplay appears to be the story of a group of people who, up to a point, struggle with their life’s a mbition to eradicate the evils in the Indian nation. The debts of all Indian farmers are paid off. All the governme nt hospitals all over India are being brought up to par with world standards. So when the story is thinking that h ow we can solve our daily problems with the help of a superhero and his team, the attack on the hero starts, in th e context of elections, like the story that if you take a comb and hide it, the marriage will not happen, they steal all the voting machines.
Stealing the money to bribe the people to vote, threatening to stop the Indian government from holding election s, sealing it with those who fought against toxic factories everywhere in India and then taking revenge on the her o villain, erasing the infamy of his father as a traitor, and again A heart-wrenching screenplay that sets out to fin d Swiss bank accounts.The visual idea of hijacking a metro train and taking it under their control is amazing. A s such, their destination after successfully completing the project was even more intimidating and unexpected. Si milarly Vikram Rathore’s opening scene was shot with a quality that surpasses Hollywood films.
The scenes of the poor farmer’s suicide, 52 children dying without an oxygen cylinder, are passed over as painfu lly imposed scenes without engendering compassion or sadness. Usually an Atlee film has some heartwarming sc enes to support the revenge theme at the heart of the story. They cause internal upheavals that prompt us to tak e revenge along with the hero. For example Samantha in Theri, Mersal and father Vijay’s death scenes in Bigil, th e story of the acid attack girl in Bigil, etc. Jawaan lacks a scene that can give such a strong emotional connect.
The scene where the minister is kidnapped and everyone confesses their crimes to save the minister’s life is not acceptable. Deepika Padukone’s life as a prison inmate with her son was an interesting and eye-watering episod e. The scenes of Vikram Rathore leading the army to Pakistan are reminiscent of the movie Aarambam.The actio n scenes are superbly shot. Even Nayan Dhara’s fight scenes are made in a grand and believable manner.Thus, the screenplay is interesting at many points and predictable at others. Many scenes are innovative and unrealistic all y cinematic, while some are old-fashioned and reminiscent of Shankar’s films.
Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest strength of the film. His screen persona resonates in every frame. His body langua ge and his facial expressions as he adapts to the dialogues make the viewing experience enjoyable. His acting is e xcellent in the scenes where he thinks about his parents. The feeling of seeing vintage Shah Rukh back on screen in intimate romantic scenes with Deepika Padukone and Nayanthara. When the kid in the car calls himself dad d y, is this my kid too…? His natural quip when askedAt the beginning of the story, the hero of the story, Shah Rukh Khan, along with his group hijack a train. After such kidnapping, they make a demand to the government.
Then they appoint someone to negotiate with them. Nayantara, the heroine of the story, is the next person to negotiate.
