Second Edition of HCL Squash Doubles

Second Edition of HCL Squash Doubles Nati onal Championships Conclude in Chennai.

Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar won in the Men’s Doubles category Anahat Singh
and Joshna Chinappa won in the Women’s Doubles category Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh won in the Mixed Doubles category ₹ 3,30,000 prize mone y awarded to winners.

Chennai, May 23rd, 2025:HCL Group, a lead ing global conglomerate, in partners hip wit h the Squash Rackets Federation of India (S RFI), Successfully concluded the second ed ition of the HCL Squash Doubles National C hampionship at the Indian Squash Academ my, Chennai.The tournament was held from May 20 to Ma ay 23, 2025. This Champions hip was als so a national selection event for the 2nd Asian Doubles Championships in M alaysia at the end of June.

Following the strong momentum built in the 2024 inaugural edition, the championship h as quickly become a regular feat ure on Indi a’s squash calendar. It aims to promote the doubles format and encourage wider partci pation in the sport acro ss the country. The four-day tournament brought together Indi a’s top squash p layers including Joshna Ch hinappa, Anah at Singh, Abhay Singh, and V elavan Senthilkumar.

Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar won in the men’s doubles with a score of 11-5, 1 1-4. Anahat Singh and Joshna Chi nappa w on in the women’s doubles with a score of 11-4, 11-9. Abhay Singh and A nahat Singh in the mixed doubles catego ry with a score of 11-9, 5-11, 11-9. The  winners were felic itated by the Chief G uest, Padma Shri Mr. V. Baskaran, a lege ndary field hockey playe r and former In dian coach. Also present we re Rajat Chandolia, Associate Vice Preside nt & Head – Brand, HCL, and Cyrus Poncha, Secretary General, SRFI. All winners were a war ded their trophies and a share of the tot al prize purse of ₹3.3 lakh during the closin sing ceremony.

The Championships 2025 concluded on a hi gh note, setting the stage for a strong show ing by Indian players on the continental sta ge later this year.
