Story-:

Nivin Pauly plays a man blessed with immortality, having lived for nearly 4,000 years. Despite the passage of so much time, his love for Anjali remains unchanged; throughout the ages, he has been constantly searching for her.

On Diwali night, while sleeping in the last unreserved coach of a train, Nivin Pauly has a dream in which the beloved woman he has been seeking for years appears.

As Nivin Pauly’s story unfolds, Soori enters the narrative as another key character. Having worked in Dubai for years, Soori is traveling back to his hometown—carrying his earnings and gifts for his family—on the very same train as Nivin Pauly.

Upon boarding the train, Soori wakes up Nivin Pauly, who was asleep and dreaming of his beloved. Subsequently, Soori faces a series of troubles caused by Nivin Pauly, leading to various conflicts and conversations between the two.

With a rat also accompanying them on this journey, the rest of the story reveals whether Nivin Pauly finds the woman he has been searching for and whether Soori successfully reaches his hometown.

Movie Review-:

Director Ram is known for crafting films that touch the heart by portraying the emotions of realistic characters; this quality has earned him special respect and affection from fans.

In the film *Ezhu Kadal Ezhu Malai*, he beautifully conveys the message that this world belongs not just to humans, but to every living creature. It is commendable how he presented this concept uniquely on screen through Nivin Pauly’s character, though the execution could have been made more engaging.

We know Ram excels at handling emotions—a trait that typically drives his screenplays—and he has done so effectively here as well. The way he portrays love in several scenes is truly touching.

While the meeting of two contrasting characters in the same setting builds anticipation, the narrative lacks a certain thrill, which tests the audience’s patience. Anjali’s character, playing Nivin Pauly’s love interest, fails to make any significant impact, which is somewhat disappointing.

Both the first and second halves of the film test the viewer’s patience. Although the interval sequence successfully piqued curiosity about what would happen next, the film falters because the subsequent scenes fail to satisfy that anticipation.

Nivin Pauly, Soori, and Anjali have all delivered solid performances. Beyond the human cast, a rat emerges as a character in its own right, accompanying the audience throughout the journey. Cinematography is a major strength of the film, though the sequences utilizing graphics and AI could have been executed better.

The film’s greatest strengths are undoubtedly its background score and songs. The way the music gently carries the viewer along from start to finish is delightful. Plus points: The actors’ contributions, the interval sequence, the things Nivin Pauly did for the sake of the rat, and Director Ram’s effort to convey love through the characters.

Minus points: Lack of engagement, a screenplay that tests one’s patience, and Anjali’s character failing to make an impact. Overall, those who don’t mind a film that tests their patience can certainly watch *Ezhu Kadal Ezhu Malai*.
