Movie Review-;

This 2018 story is based on a true incident in Kerala. August 9: Due to heavy rains in Kerala, the Idukki Dam is op ened, the water is flowing out, and the rain speed is increasing, the government needs people to rescue people a nd do what they need. Some people there are helping for that.That night all the people there get nervous as the water keeps rising, the situation is very dire and everyone’s house gets flooded. Some people’s houses get buried in the soil, then people do what they can to help them. In the end, the rest of the story of the film is what happen ed to them, who was there and who died…Jude Antony Joseph has directed this story very realistically.Anup (Tov ino Thomas), an ex-soldier, fears death and leaves the army.

Mathachan (Lal) and his son Winston (Narain) make a living through fishing, while Koshy (Aju Varghese) drives a taxi for tourists. Ramesh (Vineeth Srinivasan), an IT employee in Dubai, faces relationship troubles with his wife in India, and Sethupathi (Kalayirasan) from Tamil Nadu agrees to transport explosives to Kerala as a truck driver. The floods devastate Kerala in 2018, and the story follows the protagonists’ struggles and the impact of the cris is on the people of Kerala. How did they survive this massive disaster? The movie has all the answers.The movie 2018 which was recently released in Malayalam and is currently going on with super success at the box office wi th a good collection.

This movie, which was made as a saga in the background of the floods in Kerala five years ago, has come before the Tamil audience today. And let’s see how this movie is in the review. Anoop (Tovino Thomas) is an ex-service man who quits the army fearing death. Matachchan (Lal) and his son Winston (Narain) earn a living by fishing, wh ile Koshi (Aju Varghese) drives a taxi for tourists. Ramesh (Vineeth Srinivasan), an IT employee in Dubai, faces re lationship problems with his wife in India. Likewise Sethupathi (Kalairasan) from Tamil Nadu agrees to transport explosives to Kerala as a truck driver.

But the 2018 movie has to be watched for answers to how their lives changed when the floods ravaged Kerala in 2018 and how the story unfolds after the impact of the flood crisis on the people of Kerala, whether they surviv ed the calamity or what happened afterwards. Some movies not only impress the audience but also make them f eel connected to the movie. This 2018 movie also provides such an experience to the audience. In fact, this mov ie is very normal and although there are no big twists in it, the story, stories and acting of the characters are very impressive. Director Jude Anthony Joseph has taken the heartwarming story. However, although the first half cr eates some confusion between the characters, it is completely clarified in the second half.

Engaging screenplay along with heart touching scenes and actors performances will attract everyone to the mo vie. Tovino Thomas once again gives an impressive performance in his role in this movie. Especially his chara cter is very well designed. The scenes of a man returning from the army fearing death and bravely saving many peopl e in flood conditions are good. Lal, who played the role of Matachchan, excelled in his role as a fisherman. His sav ing of many lives especially during floods is heartwarming. Naren and Kalairasan also entertain with their good p erformances, while the rest of the cast do well in their respective roles. Along with the story, the film’s excellent camera work and extraordinary background score create a tense atmosphere, especially in the second half of th e film they contribute a lot to the film and the edge-of-the-seat scenes are very engaging for the audience.

One of the problems of 2018 is that the role of the government and the media during the critical moments of the 2018 Kerala floods was shown too little. Although the director’s main intention was to uplift humanity above all, he should have also highlighted the work done by the media and the government during the crisis. Aparna Balam urali, who is very familiar to the audience, has very little screen presence, which is a bit disappointing. The direct or should have written more scenes for her. The first half of the movie leaves the audience somewhat confused a s the director focuses more on the characters and their problems than the main plot.

Some of the characters like Tanvi Ram and Gautami Nair don’t make much of an impact on the plot and might le ave the audience a little dissatisfied. There are some flaws in the movie but they are not so negative. In part icu lar, the director has created this plot with emotional elements so that the audience forgets them and keeps their eyes glued to the screen. The director could have made the story more interesting by creating suspense like sho wing more scenes of dam damage. Jude Anthony Joseph is to be commended for portraying a realistic story that showcases the fears of different types of people and their ultimate courage to stand by their fellow human be ings during a natural calamity.

His screenplay is also good, especially in the second half where he shows people’s emotions naturally. The film is technically brilliant, thanks to the superb performance of music director Nobin Paul, cinematographer Akhil Ge orge and the entire production design team. Chaman Chakko’s editing is fine, but some scenes from the first half could have been removed to make 2018 a better experience. The production values are good and the VFX work is thrilling. Telugu dubbing is also good. Overall, the 2018 movie is a movie that evokes emotions and thrills the a udience. Excellent acting by Tovino Thomas, Lal, Naren, excellent background score and cinematography are str ength of the movie. Apart from some unnecessary scenes in the movie, there are many wonderful scenes that le ave the audience immersed in emotions. You can watch this movie happily with your family this weekend with out any doubt.
