Movie Review-:

Starring Kavin and Andrea, the crime thriller film ‘Mask’, composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, has a thrilling screenplay that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The story, full of unexpected twists and turns, speaks of deep psychological issues.

Recently, young actors in Tamil cinema have been increasingly choosing to leave their usual style and choose challenging storylines. In that vein, after lively hits like ‘Tata’, actor Kavin has entered the field of a completely different crime thriller. ‘Mask’, which stars actress Andrea in the lead role, has captured the attention of the fans since the day it was announced.

The central story of the film ‘Mask’ is woven around a mysterious series of murders taking place in the hectic backdrop of Chennai. Kavin plays a clever, but emotional police officer.

After successfully investigating many cases, these murders pose a huge challenge for him. In each murder, the killer wears a specific mask, making the clues complicated.

Meanwhile, Andrea plays a psychologist. She studies the mentality and background of the victims in the cases that Gavin investigates.

The story moves through the conflict, understanding, and logical discussions between Gavin and Andrea. Who is the killer? Why is he committing these murders? What is the meaning of the mask he wears? The answers to these questions are set.

The thrilling screenplay The plot of the film attracts the audience by inciting the curiosity of what will happen next. Background music G.V. Prakash Kumar’s excellent background music enhances the thriller feel manifold.

The pair of Gavin – Andrea have added novelty to their characters. Their on-screen chemistry is excellent. Cinematography: The night scenes and mysterious situations are captured beautifully by the camera
Some of the major twists are predictable for those who watch thrillers a lot. The pace of the story feels a bit slow before the break.

Some of the artificial scenes and a few fight scenes feel artificial and do not match the real nature of the film.

Despite some weaknesses, the central idea of the film and the social or psychological message it conveys are commendable. For those who like serious crime thrillers, ‘Mask’ is definitely an interesting treat. It is a good choice to spend your time in the cinemas on the weekend!
