Indian Coast Guard ship Samudra Paheredar recovers adrift Tsunami Buoy
Indian Coast Guard ship Samudra Paheredar recovers Tsunami Buoy BD11 of National Institute of Ocean Techn ology (NIOT), Chennai from 130 nautical miles(approx) east of Visakhapatnam.
The buoy was adrift from its mo ored position since mid Nov 22. Tsunami Buoys play vital role in early detection of Tsunami waves generated by undersea earthquakes. The recovered buoy was handed over to NIOT at Chennai today
