Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School has emerged as the Champion in the FIDE (World Chess Federation) World School Team Chess Championship 2025, held at Episcopal High School, Washington D.C., USA, from August 2 to 7, 2025. For the first time, a team from India — representing Tamil Nadu’s Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School — travelled to the United States to participate in this prestigious tournament.
