University of Southampton Delhi sele ct s Gurgaon’s International Tech Park for the home of its modern campus in India
Set within 60 acres of land inside the T ech Park, the new campus will house b es t-in-class facilities to foster innovat ion,creative thinking and collaboratio n.
Chennai, 11th December, 2024: Univer sity of Southampton Delhi has announ ced International Tech Park, Gurgaon, a s the location of its state-of-the-art c amp us. Set to be completed by April 2025 w ith the first intake of students starting in August 2025, the new camp us will bring world-class education, re search and ent erprise opportunities t o India through t he excellent facilitie s offered at Internat ional Tech Park. The campus will offer se veral key ben efits for students including a dedicated student hub, social and colla boration areas, a large library, private study sp aces, IT labs and training suites. One other striking feature will be the ded dicated research space that is aimed at promoting academic and student colla boration.
Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice-Presi dent of International and Engagement a t the University of Southampton, sai d: “We chose Gurgaon and the Interna tion al Tech Park for our new campus becaus e of the city’s position as a thri ving hub f or business, technology, and innovation in India. “The Internations al Tech Park of fers an ideal location, s urrounded by cu tting-edge industries and dynamic care er opportunities, e nsuring our students are immersed in a forward-thinking envi ronment.
“The campus’s futuristic design will fo stner creativity and collaboration, wit h faci lities that promote both academ ic excell ence and student wellbeing. T his envir onment will empower studen ts to not o nly receive world-class edu cation but al so gain the practical skil ls and industry c onnections needed to excel in their care ers.
”The new campus will implement the University of Southampton’s prestigi ous triple helix model, which combin es education, research, and industry collaborati on. This exciting opportuni ty represents the first chance to study in India with a world top 100 UK Russe ll Group univer sity. Students will grad uate with the sam e degree at Univers ity of Southampton Delhi as they will do when studying the same degree in the UK.
University of Southampton Delhi will st art by offering undergraduate prog ram mes in Computer Science, Busin ess Man agement, Economics, Accoun ts and Fina nce, as well as postgraduat e programme s in International Manag ement and Fina nce. The University wi ll expand its portf olio every year by a ding new and emerging programmes. More details on student accommodati on will be unveiled soon.
The International Tech Park provides st udents with access to fitness centre tos, fo od halls, table tennis zones, and sports f acilities including basketball a nd tennis courts, with a cricket pitch u nder develo pment. Nearby amenities include golf co urses, football grounds, and equestrian c entres, further enhan cing the overall student experience.
Oxford International will act as an op erational partner, supplying the exper tise needed to uphold the same except ional standards of learning and empli oyability that students experience in t he UK. Set within the 60 acres of Intern ational Tec hPark, the new campus wil l be IGBC LEE D Platinum pre-certified.
The campus is being designed by inter nationally acclaimed architect Morph ogen nesis and will be in an exclusive an exclusive new build ing that will be accessible to all.
