Movie Review -:
When two young men unleash violence on the town and his family, Kiri takes a ction in this cat-and-mouse revenge th riller 2024 – when men decide to manip ipulate a situation that has already be en sorted out by a woman, everything will only get worse.
Debut writer-director Joju George pla ys Kiri, who runs a major real estate c ompany with family and college friend s. Together, they are part builders and part harmless mafia in Thrissur. Just a s the police are talking about the incre asing gangsterism, two new, young bad guys, Don and Shiji, secretly murder a landlord in the heart of the city. This s hakes up the police and Kiri and his as ssociates. But as they search for the cu ulprits, the two move on to the next cr ime, which becomes the focus of the st ory.
Don takes a liking to Giri’s wife, Gauri (Abhinaya), and catches her while she is shopping alone. She immediately sla aps him and walks away, but Giri decid es to take matters into her own hands and beats him up in public. The film h as a backdrop of violence, with the you uth raping Gauri as revenge for the hu miliation and Giri coming out to take r evenge for this and more.
The film has a mishmash of clichés fro m old Joshi films, with the hero walkin g a fine line between good and evil (ma chismo), an IPS officer’s daughter-in-la w, making fun of a senior cop and appe aring to be a traditional, but intelligen t, pillar of the family.
While the writing is not strong, Joju cr eates an emotional core and cat-and-m ouse action that keeps the audience in vested and engaged, and the cast – Ale xander Prashanth, Sujith Shankar and others – are well cast in the characters. Shares good chemistry. But the gaps li ke family involvement in the first mur der are not filled. Thrissur culture is w ell captured.
Being the new hero of the violent mass entertainers, Joju gives the audience w hat they want and he succeeds in this v ery well.
