Chennai, 14 March 2025: In a pioneringeff ort to highlight the importance of sleep hea alth, Apollo Specialty Hospital, Vanagaram organised India’s first sleep chain at the Va nagaram junction today. This unique initiati ve, held to commemorate World Sleep Day 2025 and its theme “Make Sleep Health a P riority,” brought tog ether doctors & nurses, to form a symbolic chain while holding pil lows inscribed with messages on the impo rtance of sleep.
With over 60% of Indians suffering from po or sleep quality, the sleep chain serves as a powerful reminder that sleep is not a luxury but a biological necessity. It also seeks to r aise awareness that poor sleep is linked to heart disease, diabetes, weakened immuni ity and mental health disorders. It drives ho me the point that small but crucial lifestyle changes such a s consistent sleep schedul ules, reduced sc reen time and seeking med ical help can help address sleep disorders.
