Story-:
*Charukesi* chronicles the life of a musician. The protagonist, Y.G. Mahendra, is an accomplished singer who suddenly develops Alzheimer’s disease. His son holds little respect for him; the son is in love with Ramya Pandian, and his character arc holds significance in the story—including a twist regarding his relationship with Y.G. Mahendra. Against this backdrop, we learn about Y.G. Mahendra’s life through the perspectives of others. The story unfolds to reveal whether he ultimately recovers from the illness.

Movie Review -:
YG Mahendra has poured his vast acting experience into his performance. When he sings the lines, “To come and go is our task; to guide us is His divine play,” one’s heart truly melts. Both Samuthirakani and Sathyaraj have delivered their best in guest roles. Suhasini and Thalaivasal Vijay have performed their assigned roles competently. Ramya Pandian’s acting is also satisfactory.
Carnatic music makes a significant impact on the film; Deva has certainly provided melodious tunes. Sanjay’s cinematography is understated, yet there are no major flaws.
Pa. Vijay has penned the dialogues and lyrics. Suresh Krissna has crafted a musical drama that is reasonably engaging.
The film conveys the importance for today’s generation to understand and learn about the lives of their parents. While a sharper execution would have made it even better, *Charukesi* is still worth a watch.
