Story -:
A mysterious book is found inside a box. If you think it is an ordinary book, it is not. Those who read it are forewarned of some of the events that will happen next.
The book deals with the village of Makerai and the mysterious happenings there.
A mystery has haunted Makerai village for generations. Once in seven years, and that too in June, the men of the village mysteriously die one after the other.
Why do these deaths occur every seven years? Are humans or supernatural forces behind this? The story moves with the questions.
At the same time Pari (Sithu) takes charge as the new inspector of Makerere police station.
Starting his mission with a new town and new people, Barry gets information about the mysterious deaths that keep happening there. After he embarks on the investigation, with each unraveling of the knot another mystery stands before him.
At one point, Barry himself gets caught in the web of the mystery.
What is the secret behind the deaths that occur every seven years in Makerai village? What does that mystery book have to do with deaths? How does an incident several generations ago relate to the series of deaths happening now? Can Barry escape the danger? The rest of the story of ‘The Dark Heaven’ is the answers to that.

Director Balaji draws attention with the way he takes an ancient incident and connects it with present-day mysteries.
In particular, the important attraction of the film is the ‘book that foretells future events’. Along with this, the story is moved along with another knot of mysterious deaths that happen every seven years, and the anticipation builds for what will happen next.
The fact that seemingly small things at the beginning turn out to be clues to a bigger mystery gives the film a thriller.
Similarly, the strength of the screenplay is that the entire film is not based on just supernatural things, but tries to tell the reason behind the old incident.
Sidhu, who plays Pari, has the responsibility of carrying the entire story. Realizing that, he has performed well. His body language in the beginning as a police officer and changes as he goes deeper into the mystery fits the character.
Darshika, who plays the wife, looks beautiful on the screen and has handled her character very well.
Another character that attracts attention in the film is Rithvika’s Kani. He has impressively recorded the important role with his experienced performance. His performance at some places is surprising.
Pradeep, who comes across as a handsome constable, has given a natural and poised performance without any exaggeration.
While the presence of experienced actors like Vela Ramamurthy and Shithol Ravi is an added strength of the film, the impact of their characters would have been greater if the scenes for them had been expanded a little more.
As much as the story is important in a supernatural thriller film, so is creating the context for that story. Manikandan PK’s cinematography has helped at that place.
Maker has brought the necessary atmosphere of the story like village, night scenes and mysterious moments through the camera.
Sakthi Balaji’s background music creates the necessary tension for the thriller scenes. The background music enhances the impact of the scenes especially where the mystery unfolds.
Raja Arumuga’s cinematography also helps the story move as fast as possible.
At the same time, some things in the film could have been more compelling.
The foundation of the story is the connection between the events of ancient times and the deaths of the present. The impact of the climax would have been greater if the connection between the two periods had been recorded more elaborately and emotionally.
Similarly, there is a feeling that actors like Vela Ramamurthy and Shadows Ravi could have given stronger scenes.
However, beyond these flaws, the film succeeds in moving the story along, keeping the audience in mind with the question, ‘What is behind these deaths?’
A mystery book… Deaths that happen every seven years… A secret that spans generations… A police officer who goes in search of…
Combining these four things together, ‘The Dark Heaven’ gives a mystical thriller experience.
‘The Dark Heaven’ is an interesting thriller treat for those who enjoy mystery, paranormal, investigation and serial death thrillers!
