When Rishikant is separated from Sanand and lives in another state, Rishikand receives a call from his father to kill Sanand. How did Rishikant face this unexpected situation? Why did his family decide to kill Sanand through Rishikant? It is ‘Dorothy’ who says this with Madurai’s characteristic action and respect for human feelings.

Movie Review -:
Director Karthik Subbaraj, who shows the top stars as mass and creates mass status for the common people, has started a new discussion in Tamil cinema by openly talking about human feelings and the anxieties of fellow human beings who are excluded by humans through this Dorothy.
Both Sanand and Rishikanth, who play the protagonists of the story, have proved that they are powerful actors who can handle any character with ease through their every move.

His body language and acting in the scenes of Sanand’s sudden change and his inability to show that change and at the same time struggling to contain it inside are amazing. Conveying many emotions through his body movements, Sanand occupies an important place in the list of Tamil cinema actors.
Rishikanth’s aggressive performance, who dares to do anything for a friend, makes the men of the dusty land stand before their eyes. The dilemma that comes when the one who lends a shoulder to friendship goes out to kill a friend has been beautifully portrayed. Rishikanth, who handles many intense scenes with his exquisite acting, is sure to emerge as the star of hope to overcome the dearth of heroes in Tamil cinema.

Keerthy Suresh has played the role of Dorothy in lesser scenes but has done a great job in the role that draws attention as the turning point of the story.
Ramachandran Durairaj, Chelandarajan and Muthukumar’s screen presence and their performances have beautifully portrayed the male dominated men and those who commit atrocities in the name of honour.
Although Jiva Subramanian, Kejaraj, Rams and others appear only in a few scenes, they play an important role in the screenplay through their dialogues and scenes and remain in people’s minds.
Cinematographer S. Thiru has shot the scenes in such a way as to convey the feeling of traveling in the 80s to the audience. The way the characters are shown and the way the plot is presented, even the simplicity of the film is very powerfully traveled on the screen by S.Mr.

Ilayaraja’s music is the lifeblood of the film. While the songs “Kalyana Vidhanu” and “Muthumani” have received a huge response, when you watch it along with the visuals, you can experience the trick of Ilayaraja’s songs conveying different emotions to the audience very easily. Ilayaraja has traveled as the red blob in the title Dorothy, enlivening the scenes with every feeling of conflict, love, anger and sadness in the background music.
Although it is a simple story, the work of film editor Ganesh Siva who has told it in a lan-liner manner and created scene after scene twist and anticipation is special.
Karthik Subbaraj and Saravanan Chandran have written the story in a very bold way to talk about a subject that many people hesitate to talk about.
Karthik Subbaraj, who has written and directed the screenplay, has once again proved that he can direct not only mass commercial films but also films that touch people’s hearts. A person who starts the story as a commercial film at the beginning without exaggerating any thing in any place but portrays the scenes close to the truth, suddenly makes the story travel on a different path and makes some guesses in the mind of the audience and turns it false, that unexpected twist is amazing.
While it is commendable that leading directors like Karthik Subbaraj tackle such a story and social outcasts, the sudden romance at the climax is not acceptable. As love ends a long journey that begins with friendship, the film ends, but the climax is forced. Even if that one thing is the only shortcoming of the film, if we look at it aside, the film is sure to be a work that creates a new discussion in Tamil cinema and a new voice for those who are neglected by the society.
All in all, ‘Dorothy’ is a new path, a film to be appreciated.
