I, Apsara Vydyula, granddaughter of veteran playback singer Smt. S. Janaki, confirm with deep sorrow the passing of my father, Shri Vydyula Murali Krishna, on January 22, 2026, at 12:55 a.m. in Mysuru, following treatment for a prolonged illness. Shri Murali Krishna was a devoted son, a constant pillar of strength and support to Smt. Janaki, and a gifted musician in his own right. He was surrounded by family and well-wishers at the time of his passing. His last rites were conducted in the presence of family.
