Movie Review -:
Although director Ramdev states that the story and climax for *Makkal Thalaiva* were conceived prior to the recent assembly elections, the fact that the narrative remains strikingly relevant to the current political climate has come as a surprise to everyone.
Ravi Mariya, previously known for playing comedic villain roles, makes his debut as a lead actor in this film. He portrays the protagonist—a politician—rather than the typical hero defined by action sequences and romance.

Despite playing the lead, Ravi Mariya injects humor with his signature punchlines. However, when he transforms into a politician on stage—campaigning and making unfulfillable promises—one cannot help but be reminded of a famous actor who recently achieved electoral success.

The film vividly exposes the nature of the current “Reels era” by depicting how social media is leveraged to captivate the public through short, viral videos during election campaigns.
The portrayal of Radha Ravi as a corporate tycoon who pulls the strings of the Chief Ministerial candidate inevitably brings to mind a certain lottery baron. The scenes starkly illustrate the harsh reality that corporate entities possess the power to both create a Chief Minister and orchestrate their downfall.

Ganja Karuppu appears as Ravi Mariya’s friend, delivering dialogues in his unique style and showcasing his signature acting flair after a long hiatus. Similarly, newcomer Agni S. Varun, playing another friend of the protagonist, holds his own impressively.
Kavithalaya Saravanan has not only produced the film but also plays the role of a politician.
While the director’s initial intent behind the film remains unknown, he has undoubtedly crafted a movie that lays bare the realities of contemporary politics. Although the project originated from S.A. Chandrasekhar’s team, the film ironically ends up serving as a counter-narrative to their own political trajectory. Thulasi Raman has composed the music; the song “Mutta Mutta Mutta Oorudhan” serves as a stinging slap in the face to the public’s ignorance.karthik S. Nair’s cinematography is vibrant and colorful.Makkal Thalaiva” — the Reels video ruthlessly tears apart the administration.
